Accessories

5 groups of accessories are described OABC locking , OABC elevation, breast retracting, comfort enhancing DIBH, skin contact accessories

Group 1 OABC locking

Fixation and deadlock of OABC is typically performed by radiation technologists and takes about half a minute.

Group 2 OABC elevation

A build-in pedestal, raises the patient at mid-sternum approximately 17.5 cm above the zero position of the couch surface of a CT-simulator couch. More elevation can be obtained by this accessory “Couch Adapter Frame”. Elevation of the patient allows for seamless transition from CT-simulation to treatment. Reactive forces to the patient’s weight are similar at CT-simulation and treatment. Hence, device deformation under patient load is CT-simulated.

Group 3 Breast retracting

The unilateral breast holder retracts the healthy breast away from the
irradiation beams. The submammory elastic red belt of the breast holder flattens abdominal/thoracic skin folds.

Group 4 Comfort enhancing DIBH

Prone headrest

The prone headrest is removable from the head support platform. It is recommended to use for each patient a different prone headrest. After each treatment, remove the prone headrest from the head support platform for disinfection. Currently , this device is the “Q-fix Prone Headrest”.

Caudal knee cushion

Mounting the caudal knee cushion provides comfort for the patient as well as redundant safety regarding the prevention of tilting of OABC. Through its attachments with the linear accelerator couch, CT-simulator couch or couch adaptor frame, the caudal knee cushion secures a second connection of the caudal part of OABC with the couch blade on which OABC is positioned. For these reasons, always use OABC with the caudal knee cushion securely mounted to the couch blade or couch adaptor frame below.

Group 5 Skin contact accessories

Arm support cover

The arm support blade, made in carbon fiber composite, is covered by a washable hygienic sleeve, called arm support cover. The hypo-allergic fabric of this sleeve forms the contact surface with the patients’ shoulder and arm. The figure shows the shape of the arm support cover when stretched over the arm support blade.

Head support cover

The head support, is covered by a washable hygienic sleeve, called head support cover. The hypo-allergic fabric of this sleeve forms the contact surface with the patients’ head. The figure shows the shape of the head support cover when stretched over the head support.
